Press Republican article

On June 24th, the Press Republican prominently featured the AAIEP funded "Patterns in Nature" LCB project at Westport Central School, with teaching artist Elizabeth Lee! The article was written by local PR journalist, Alvin Reiner, who attended a contact session at the school on a day where students, their science teacher Mr. Fiegl, Elizabeth Lee (as well as AAIEP Coordinator, Janine Scherline) walked down by a stream near the school to photograph patterns in emerging spring plant life as well as on nearby trees and in the water from the stream. Students worked in pairs and observed the landscape around them - it's aesthetic beauty and scientific processes - and took careful notes about what they photographed and the settings that were used on their cameras.
